Lesson Plan 3: Electric Cell & Battery
Chapter 03: Electricity: Circuits and their Components
Teacher Action
Demonstration – Types of Cells and Batteries (Teacher-Led):
• Display pictures from PPT (VIIC03LP03-RS01) and real samples.
• Remind students of previous class observations.
• Show positive/negative terminals and demonstrate identification.
• Explain rechargeable vs non-rechargeable batteries.
• Demonstrate how cells connected form a battery.
Student Action
• Observe different types of cells and batteries.
• Share where they've seen these in daily life.
• Identify terminals on real samples.
• Note difference between rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.
• Record key differences in notebook.
Teacher Action
Group Activity – Device and Battery Identification (Student-Led):
• Divide class into 5–6 groups with Device–Battery Kit (VIIC03LP03-RS02).
• Distribute Activity Sheet (VIIC03LP03-RS03).
• Students identify which cell/battery powers each device.
• Circulate and support with probing questions.
Student Action
• Examine devices and cells/batteries in kit.
• Identify suitable cell/battery for each device.
• Discuss reasoning and record observations.
• Present one device and its power source.
