• Display a torchlight, laser light, and battery-operated toy.
• Operate each device and prompt students to predict and explain.
• Open the torch to show cells inside.
• Explain cell vs battery – chemical to electrical energy transformation.
• Guide students with inquiry questions about energy types and switch function.
Student Action
• Observe and identify parts of the devices.
• Compare how each device works.
• Note definitions of cell and battery.
• Understand energy transformations: Chemical → Electrical → Light/Motion/Sound.
• Understand switch completes/breaks the circuit.
